Walking The UK National Trails

The UK is famous for its National Trails: long-distance walking routes with paths that are managed and maintained to specific Quality Standards, alongside easy to follow signposts so you don't get lost (unless you want to of course!). The distinctive acorn symbol marks these paths, helping you to traverse the 2,500+ miles of UK landscape.

How many National Trails are there?

There are sixteen trails to choose from, from the shortest at just 79 miles (Yorkshire Wolds Way) taking an average of 6 days to complete, to the longest at 630 miles (South West Coast Path), taking up to 8 weeks to ramble at a leisurely pace. We have long been lovers of all the National Trails here at Compass Holidays, particularly our local one, The Cotswold Way.
